Taking Possession

The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. (Psalm 115:16)

Taking Possession

Possessing an ownership mentality is a requirement to properly govern this planet. God is not running the world. I know that statement might shock a lot of people, particularly Christians, but God is running the Church and the Church should be running the world. This is a vital revelation for both kings and priests to understand if they are going to possess and control their high places (spheres of influence) on Earth and carry out the Great Commission on the level God intended.

The Bible strongly supports this truth in Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” (Emphasis mine)

God, from the very beginning, gave this Earth and the authority to manage it to mankind—Adam and Eve. Not long after, Adam lost control of the earth to the devil, but Jesus, the Son of man and the “Last Adam,” got it back. Now the Church is to take up where the first man (Adam) left off before he sinned. We are to take possession of the Earth and have dominion.

Father, I praise You for revealing in Your Word that the Church, and that includes me, is in control. Father, grant me wisdom and power through Jesus Christ to take my place of dominion over the devil and all his works in my life, my family, and in my sphere of influence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
