A REVELATION OF GOD’S JUSTICE

SCRIPTURE:

But when Daniel learned that the (ungodly) law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. (Daniel 6:10 NLT)

DEVOTIONAL:

A Revelation of God’s Justice

Out of envy and greed for power, Daniel’s coworkers tricked the king into passing an unjust law that required Daniel to dishonor God or face certain death. As verse 10 reveals, Daniel refused to obey the law and continued to pray openly three times a day, giving thanks to God.

What gave Daniel the courage to continue following God without compromise? A revelation of God’s justice.

One of the main reasons for vengeance is for you to be able to stand for righteousness in the midst of an ungodly system, and to be confident that you will not get hurt and that you will change the system to which you have been sent.

“Being sent” is part of your kingdom mandate. It means that God will use you to bring light where there is darkness; to provide influence to guide nations back to God; and to take kingdom jurisdiction over your specific domain, thereby bringing all laws, ordinances, codes, statutes and executive actions in line with the government of God. All these things, including systems, institutions, legislations, regulations and policies, will be brought in line to accommodate our divine purpose.

PRAYER:

Dear God, I receive your call, Lord, to be sent wherever you desire to send me, to do whatever You’ve assigned me to do, and I will not compromise. I believe light will overcome darkness and Your justice will bring all things in line with Your government. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
